In places where hiking is something shocking and technology is an insult to the memory of the Centaurs of our mythology, we suggest some routes through rugged trails, which are not devoid of natural beauty, kilometers away from the tourist storm: Agios Dimitrios, Agios Nikolaos, Katsantoni Cave, Ancient Paleros, Port of Paleros, Ancient Kekropoula. The best time of the day for hiking is early in the morning. Necessary equipment: Sneakers, sunglasses, hat, water, camera.

Cycling

Cycling can be an effective alternative to discovering paths and roads that you would not otherwise be able to go on. After all, there are many who decide to take a bicycle vacation to visit less developed tourist destinations and get to know deserted beaches even at the peak of the season. Diving

Fans of scuba diving can head to the diving centers to admire the Ionian seabed. For all those who wish to take classes at the diving center, they will have all the appropriate equipment at their disposal, along with specialized instructors! Diving Points: Agia Paraskevi Bay (for beginners), Adelfonisia (to admire herds of fish), Agios Ioannis, Agios Nikolaos, Pyrgiskos, Lefkada Cave (here the dive can be done as an Adventure Diving under the Advanced Open Water Diver P program ).

Water sports / sailing

Paleros is considered an ideal place for people who want to "tame" the Ionian Sea, surfers, from beginners to experienced. A unique combination of strong wind with low ripples will allow you to unfold your techniques. Due to the climate, the beauty of the landscape, the crystal clear and calm waters, but also the wind which is not always strong, it is definitely the ideal place also for the less experienced who want to dedicate themselves to this activity.

Agritourism

Paleros has a mild Mediterranean climate, with a lot of rain from November to January and a lot of sunshine all year round. It has always had rich vegetation and is a place with rich agricultural production, based mainly on its cultivation. The products you must try are:

In a short distance, you can visit Lefkas, Kalamos, Meganisi and the geographical structure of the area meets the requirements of visitors wishing to escape by mountain or sea. Next to Paleros is the mountain range of Serekas (1171m.), which is one of the three large volumes of the Akarnanian mountains.

The coastal zone with the rocky shores towards the Ionian side, the lagoon located between Vonitsa and Lefkada, the salt marshes and Lake Voulkaria are also points of great interest. Heavenly Paleros is ideal for a romantic beach walk overlooking the enchanting colors of the Ionian Sea.
