The trademark of Paleros!

Beaches become a tourist attraction during the summer season and are the most important source of income for locals.

Vathiavali is one of the best beaches in Aitoloakarnania - and perhaps in western Greece. The beauty of this beach, which is easily accessible by car, is exotic.

You can also discover :

  • the Potamaki beach (ideal for a families, shallow and organized)
  • Paliourias (crystal clear waters, with a "vein" of fresh water gushing through the sand and under the sea)

Paleros

Paleros is famous for its beaches that become a tourist attraction during the summer season. Vathiavali, Varko, Potamaki and Pogonia are some of the beaches that are appreciated by thousands of visitors every year.

Archaeological sites - monuments
• The Castle of Kechropoula
• The Archaeological site of Sterna
• The Castels of Plagia
• The Castle of Grivas in Peratia
• The Venetian Castle of Plagia with the name Agios Georgios (built at the end of the 17th century and declared protected since 1998)
• The Mansion of Grivas in Peratia

• Paliochori of Pogonia and the old village of Plagia (there are some caves there, which are still unexplored)

The churches and chapels standing out for their uniquity:
- The Holy Monastery of Agios Dimitrios (built around the 16th century)
- The Monastery of Panagia Romvi (located in Vatos and considered to have been built 100 years after the Fall of the City)
